"Where Fighting is ALWAYS the Answer" |
The children's program at RPFS is open to children from ages 5 through 13 and is designed to expose participants to the world of "mixed martial arts" with an emphasis on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, submission grappling and general striking techniques (both standing and on the ground) gleaned from various other arts and disciplines.

Our children's program is headed by Nicholas Masington, Esq., who began formal martial arts training in 1999, at the age of 35, after many years as a competitive bodybuilder and power lifter. While he currently holds rank in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do, Nick has a strong preference for the less restrictive world of "MMA" (mixed martial arts) or "NHB" (no-holds-barred) training. Nick is the former strength coach for the Palmerton Youth Wrestling team, won silver medals in the NAGA 2006 and 2007 Battle of the Beach Championship in the over 40 and Over 30 heavyweight divisions and was recently featured in the Lifestyles section of the Pocono Record.
Tom Pasquierello is an assistant instructor in the RPFS children's MMA and Matt Rat programs as well as a MMA instructor for our adult members. An experienced competitor with a 3-2 amatuer record in the cage Tommy is the former Pennsylvania Warrior Challenge 135lbs champion as well as the 2010 NAGA Battle at the Beach submission champion in the intermediate division. Tom brings this extensive background and experience along with a passion for teaching and enthusiasm for teaching to each of his classes, whether children or adult, and we are pleased and honoured to have him as a member of the Rat Pack staff.
Sandra Masington began her martial arts training in the art of Tae Kwon Do under Grand Master Robert Newnow (10th Dan). She is a certified assistant martial arts instructor under Master Nenow, currently holding the rank of Brown Belt and will be testing for her Black Belt in the near future. She has trained BJJ for two years, recently being promoted to blue belt under Cardoso/Simrell, trains kickboxing with Ed Arner and is both President of RFPS and it's woman's AeroBoxing Instructor. Sandi's personality and instructing abilities make her a favorite with our children's class.
